New Music!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE new music!! I saw this group play a show in Birmingham a couple of years ago and they were excellent live! So when there first single was pre-released for the “Lost” season premier, I was so excited! And I was not disappointed! The entire CD is worth giving a listen.

This is one of my favorite songs and it’s called “Happiness” fray

from the self-titled CD The Fray.

Enjoy!  Peace,

~me

Happiness

Happiness was just outside my window
I thought it’d crash blowing eighty miles an hour
But happiness is a little more like knocking
On your door, you just let it in

Happiness feels a lot like sorrow
Let it be, you can’t make it come or go
But you are gone, not for good but for now
And gone for now feels a lot like gone for good

Happiness is a firecracker sitting on my headboard
Happiness was never mine to hold
Careful child, light the fuse and get away
Cause happiness throws a shower of sparks

Happiness damn near destroys you
Breaks your faith to pieces on the floor
So you tell yourself that’s enough for now
But happiness has a violent roar

Happiness it’s like the old man told me
Look for it and you’ll never find it all
But let it go, live your life and leave it
Then one day you’ll wake up and she’ll be home

It Had to be You

“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action,

and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique.

If you block it, it will never exist through any other medium. It will be lost.  The world will not have it.

It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable it is, nor how it compares with other expressions.

It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.”

– Martha Graham, quoted by Agnes de Mille, *Dance to the Piper and Promenade Home*

Make the Most

The young student asked the Master: “What is the best way to begin and finish each day?”

The Master replied: “By giving thanks.”

“But what if there is nothing to be thankful for,” asked the boy.

The master smiled and said: “There is always something to be thankful for.

I NEVER skip this song when it plays on my iPod!

LOVE it!

I think its the rhythm, but its one of my “feel good” songs 🙂

I had a hard time finding it on YouTube – this video is actually kind of fun!

I’m comin over
See me down at the station
By the lane
With my hands in my pocket
Jingling a wish coin
That I stole from a fountain
That was drowning all the cares in the world
When I get older
Climbin up on the back porch fence
Just to see the dogs runnin
With a ring and a question
And my shiverin voice is singing
Thru a crack in the window

I better go it alone

Down on the corner
See me standin
On a makeshift road
With the dust storm blowin
In a long black shadow
Pull a hammer from a coal mine
Down where your daddy was workin
Comb my hair back
Strike a match on a bathroom wall
Where my number was written
Drivin on the sidewalk
Lookin back and the sky is burning
In my rearview mirror

I better go it alone

… learn to love the fool in me- the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries.”
