15 Minutes

I found this on Shadow’s blog, 1 Door Away From Heaven and thought it was a fun idea as a filler for typical content. Being a bit restless today, I narrowed it down to 15 minutes of listening. I also thought it would be fun to embellish with pics. Imagine that! πŸ˜‰

Maybe I should start listening in various places I go often and make it a regular thing. Hmmm….

15 Minutes

of sound at 3:45 on a Tuesday afternoon…

    • crackling and popping of a fire in the fireplace

  • wind stirring up the leaves in the woods

    • jingle of the cat’s bells as he stretches and changes position
  • chirps of the cardinals at the bird feeder having an early supper
    • sighs of my daughter, home for a visit and napping under an afghan in front of the fire

  • the rumble of the bus as it passes on its way to drop off my middle-schoolers at the corner

    • the kids coming noisily down the street, in through the front door, dropping jackets and bookbags along the way

    • coughing and hacking of the previously sleeping daughter,

      who’s getting over a cold

  • sound of an airplane overhead, heading towards a landing
  • ice-maker grinding out crushed ice into a cup for some after-school hydration
    • pop and hiss of the soda can being opened
  • thumping of the kids running upstairs to their rooms
  • faint strumming of my son’s guitar

I guess I never realized before how quickly it changed!

Ah well…better start some dinner!
