Great Strides

I have to put in a “plug”, if you will, for my awesome nephew and niece. I know I’ve been taking about Autism Awareness for the month, but just as important (to me) is finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. I’m going to paste over the information on their Great Strides page, as the Walk is coming up in May. You can click on the picture of Jonathan and Allison to take you to a link to donate/find out more about CF/generally get more information about why.

Peace,

~me

Jonathan (10) and Allison (3)

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease for which there is no cure. When the CF Foundation began in 1955, few children lived to see their first day of kindergarten, but with advances in research and treatment, the median age of survival is now 37 years! Research is making a huge difference in increasing the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That’s why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner – rather than later.

We hope you’ll join us for a fun family day honoring Jonathan, 10, and Allison, 3. This year, we are walking in the Birmingham, AL GREAT STRIDES walk at Veteran’s Park on Valleydale Rd. on Saturday, May 16th @ 9:00 am. There will be music, fun and a great free lunch donated by Jim & Nick’s! Bring your strollers, Frisbee, lawn chairs, whatever! Ask your friends and co-workers to contribute, too…each walker raising $150 will receive a “Great Strides” T-shirt.

If you can’t join us, but would still like to help, making a donation is easy and secure! All donations are tax-deductible. Your gift will be used effectively as more than $.90 of every dollar goes directly to research and drug development. Just click the “Click to Donate” button on this page to go to make a donation. Any amount you can donate big or small is greatly appreciated!

If you can’t donate at this time, we ask that you please remember to keep all CF families in your prayers. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Help make CF stand for “Cure Found!”
