Angie’s Quote of the Day

Almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

  1. Finding what compels us is important.
I am not so sure about basing all my decisions on the fact that I will die. Seems a bit morbid. But there is some truth in what he says, we may overcome our fears by reflecting on the fact that we will one day die.

Did you see the Randy Pausch Youtube i posted on my blog?
He said, “You don’t beat the reaper by living long, you beat the reaper by living well.”
Maybe that is a more concise way of saying what Jobs is saying.

However, I would inject faith in life beyond death as the ultimate “reaper beater”.
Hope you are having a wonderful Monday.
