Thought for the Day – Surprise Author

*This is NOT my entry for today, but I couldn’t resist!**

I sometimes put up an entry for my “thought for the day” category – usually something to make me think, usually something positive or soul-searching.

I found this entry on my littlest’s DA Account. She already took a “thought for today” and wrote about it.  It was REALLY good!! And while I know, I know…proudparent syndrome and all that…I still have to say,

Daaaannnnngggg! (*Joe Dirt voice inferred*) 🙂

Enjoy and I’ll post my usual wait-till-the-last-hour-possible post tonight! 😉  Peace, ~me

TO BELIEVE

To believe is to disagree in all other measures.

“Why don’t you try the simpler way?”
“No, okay, that can’t be it. You have to believe me, this will work.”
“You’re delusional.”
“No, I’m not! It sounds crazy, but it’ll work, trust me.”

To believe is to blindly try.

“Why are you doing this? It will never work.”
“Just you watch. Okay, see, let me example it now…”
“Ha! It didn’t work.”
“What happened? How did it…?”
“I’m telling you, give up now.”

To believe is to attempt again against all odds.

“Hey! Wait, I got it working again!”
“Oh really?”
“Yes, come and see!”
“Um, no.”
“What? Why not?”
“I don’t believe you. You attempt at a crazy idea, watch it fail, and then decide to try again? Nothing will change, you’re just wasting your time.”

To believe is to stand alone….

“Hmph! Well, if nobody believes I can do it, I’ll just have to prove them wrong. By myself, if I must!”

…but united.

“Um, sir? I heard you were looking for an assistant.”
“Go away, boy. You must think I’m crazy to attempt this, just like everybody else.”
“But, that’s the thing. I don’t.”
“Wha…You know what? Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. You’re hired.”

To believe is to fail.

“Assistant! What experiment is this?”
“Number 568, sir.”
“Great, we’re doing just fine on time. Hand me another beaker!”

To believe is to live for that final moment.

“Oh my sweet lord. Assistant, look at this!”
“What is, sir?”
“Watch…connect those two wires, pronto.”
“Sir…sir, you did it!”
“That I did, that I did. Go get somebody, anybody. I have to prove this.”

To believe….

“Well then, it looks like you proved me wrong, Thomas. Who knew you could capture light in a glass bulb?”
“Aren’t you happy now that I didn’t result to the ‘simpler way’ of lighting a candle?”
“Yes, I am.”

“Dr. Edison, sir, the next group of people are here to see the magical effects of the ‘light bulb’.”
“Well, then, Assistant, let’s give them a show!”

….is to succeed.
